The Life Time Fitness Triathlon Series is not only for the pros but also amateur athletes of all abilities who have a chance at becoming a Toyota Cup champion. Professionals In 2009, Professional triathletes earn points for each race completed. To be eligible for the Toyota Cup, pros must start four of five races. The top male and female point-getters will be the Toyota Cup Champions. Plus, the top three male and top three female pros will receive a Series Points Bonus. Elite Amateurs At each triathlon in the Race to the Toyota Cup Series, Elite Amateurs can qualify to attend the Toyota U.S. Open in Dallas on October 11, 2009. The top three finishers for both female and male competitors at Minneapolis, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles will qualify for a travel stipend package to support their travel to Dallas in October. Age-Group Amateurs The top 10 men and top 10 women from each Olympic distance age-group in Minneapolis, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles will qualify for the Age-Group Championships at the Toyota U.S. Open in Dallas. The first-place male and first-place female from each age-group will be the Toyota Cup Champions. |
